Music Samples

In my music life, I derive much inspiration from the Jazz greats: Jarrett, Mingus, Monk, Davis, Coltrane, Parker and Jobim. It isn't their music that influences my music, but their beliefs that influence my beliefs. What I hear in the music of these Jazz Masters is not "Do what I'm doing" or "Play what I'm playing", but "Be original. Be unique. Be yourself". That is what I take from them and it stays with me every time I write.
